1971 Triumph TR6 For Sale
The Triumph TR6 is a British sports car that was made from 1969-1976. It was the best seller of the TR range when production ended, a record subsequently surpassed by the TR7. Of the 91,850 TR6's produced, 83,480 were exported and 8,370 were sold in the UK. The frame, engine, running gear, body tub and doors were similar to the TR5/TR250. The front and rear of the car was restyled by Karmann, though one source claims the new squared off Kamm tail design was from an unrelated Michelotti prototype. All TR6's were powered by Triumph's 2.5 liter straight six, with the same Lucas mechanical fuel injection as the TR5 for the United Kingdom and global markets, and had twin stromberg carburetors for the United States. The TR6 featured a four speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive. Construction was traditional frame. These cars featured independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 inch wheels and Michelin asymmetric XAS tires, pile carpet on floors and trunk/boot, bucket seats, and full instrumentation. Brakes were discs at the front and drums at the rear. The dashboard was walnut veneer. Other factory options included a rear anti roll bar and a limited slip differential.
1971 Triumph TR6. This TR6 has a 2.5 liter engine and has a manual four speed transmission. As far as we know the engine and transmission are original to the vehicle. The engine does start off of pouring some gas into the carburetors. Comes with the factory front disc brakes and drum brakes on the rear. Has four original 15" wheels with the factory hubcaps. Has the original steering wheel. Original color of the car was sienna with a tan interior. Comes with manual windows. This vehicle comes with a sway bar on the front and rear.
The interior of the vehicle is all there but will require some restoration. All the gauges on the car are there and the soft top frame is there and complete. Both manual windows work. All of the glass on the vehicle is in good condition. This vehicle does have common TR6 rust. Chrome on the vehicle is straight and in decent shape. Comes with a clean Washington title.
