1964 Mercedes Benz 230SL For Sale
The Mercedes-Benz W113 is a two seater Convertible introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. These vehicles were produced from 1963 to 1971. The W113 replaced both the 300SL and the 190SL. Of the 48,912 W113 SL's produced, 19,440 came to the United States. The W113 SL's are known as the the Pagoda. All of these models were made with a fuel injected inline six engine. The hood, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. The short and wide chassis, combined with great suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the W113 superb handling for the era. Styling of the front end paid homage to the 300SL roadster. A 2+2 was introduced with the 250SL, which had a fold down rear bench instead of the soft top.
1964 Mercedes 230SL. This Mercedes has just come out of long term ownership. The engine in the vehicle is an inline six cylinder and comes with an automatic transmission. Engine number on the vehicle does start with 127.981. Engine does turn over freely by hand, but is not currently running. As far as we know the engine and transmission are original to the vehicle. Soft top frame is included with the vehicle and has all the latches, etc. Has later model Mercedes wheels.
The majority of the interior for this vehicle is there. The dash and gauge cluster is all original. Original radio is there and so is the clock. From what we can see the car was originally green. Both of the bucket seats are there but will require new upholstery. Original steering wheel is there. The glass has no cracks or chips and is all there. This vehicle does have rust. Comes with a clean California title and has some loose parts included with the sale.
