1959 Austin Healey 100-6 BN4 For Sale
The Austin Healey 100-6 was produced from 1956 to 1959. The predecessor to this vehicle was the 100-4 and the model after was the 3000. These vehicles are known as the big Healey's. When the 100-6 was produced it was two inches longer than the 100-4 and the four cylinder engine was replaced with a six cylinder. Body lines on these vehicles had some changes from the previous years. They came with a grille that was smaller in height but was wider than the 100-4, an air scoop was added to the hood, and the windshield was fixed and not able to be folded down. There was two types of 100-6's produced; the two seater model and the four seater. Initially the 100-6 engine could produce 102 horsepower. Over the years horsepower would be increased. Overdrive transmissions were made optional.
1959 Austin Healey 100-6 BN4. This Healey has just come out of long term ownership. Previous owner restored the vehicle in the early 1980's. Currently the car has a 3000 engine with a four speed manual transmission and overdrive. The car does run and drive. Has drum brakes on all four corners. It has the factory wire wheels and also includes a spare. The car is complete. Comes with both black and yellow plates. We just recently did some work to this vehicle. The gearbox fluid has been changed, rear axle fluid has been changed. Has a new thermostat, thermostat housing, new upper radiator hose, lower radiator hose and valve cover gasket has been changed.
The interior on the vehicle is in good condition and is all complete. The soft top frame and side curtains are included with the sale. Will require a new convertible top. Has the original front bucket seats and the rear seats. Seats and dash have no rips or tears. Door panels are also in very good shape. All of the gauges are working and previous owner added in a radio. The windshield is in great condition. This big Healey is solid. Comes with a clean California title and is currently registered until August 2021.
